Whats the humdrum about Chaps? Adventures into Victorian Science Fiction and Steampunk with ramblings about Aeronefs, Dirigibles, Land Ironclads, Anarchists, Dinosaur Hunting, Terranefs, Aquanefs, Mad Scientists, and all manner of electric contraptions and steam conveyances. It may not make sense, but there will be claret and a nice cheese board at the end. Tally-Ho and "VĂ´tre dans une sauce au vin blanc!"

Attack on Melbourne
Interesting details of a colonial harbour defense plan (minus the aerostats and aquanefs of course!)
Some valuable and fascinating insights there, Tas, many thanks for 'detecting' the article!
Excellent information, touching on all sorts of issues; multi-layered defence, submarine minefields, capabilities of cruisers and commerce raiders, even the amazing fact that Britain at one point might have been at war with Russia and/or France for five days before you Australasians even found out! Mind you, given the carefully laid defence plans, I'm sure you would have given the Tsar a bloody nose.... Plenty of inspiration for 'what-if' scenarios.
