Long May She Reign!

Today Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II surpasses her great-great grandmother's record of 23,226 days to become to longest reigning British monarch in history.  Splice the mainbrace with a bumper toast!

I wonder; in a hundred years time will wargamers be playing ESF genre games?
I think there are some things in which Queen Victoria cannot be eclipsed.

Long Live the Queen!

  1. Am fairly sure that that the Queens grandmother is not Queen Victoria. She's a bit further back down the family line.

  2. Good pickup. ERII is the great-great granddaughter of VR:

    Elizabeth's father was George VI.
George VI's father was George V, Elizabeth's grandfather.
George V's father was Edward VII, Elizabeth's great grandfather.
Edward VII's mother was Queen Victoria, Elizabeth's great great grandmother.

  3. Did you know that officially speaking the Queen is only Queen Elizabeth I in Scotland?

The other Queen Elizabeth was queen in England only.

  4. Interesting, I did not. I did know though that she has different titles in different parts of the Commonwealth.

In Australia her title is officially "Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of Australia and Her other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth"

  13. Last time we had snow here, about 10 years ago, we had about 2 inches which shut down the whole country. I bought a snow shovel and haven't used it yet.

We generally don't get home delivery either.
