Personally, when hunting extinct beasts from antiquity at grave personal risk, I prefer to use the free flowing Saurian Safari 2nd Edition rules, available from a number of suppliers.
Easy to use with lots of animal encounter sheets, random activities for the beasts and conveniently with a plasticised cover to wipe off any spilled brandy.
Keep a large supply of ammunition handy and Good Hunting Chaps!

ReplyDeleteI thought the drink of choice was Gin and Tonic? :-)

Interesting point dear chap, please do let me explain.
ReplyDeleteGnT is most definately my drink of choice, but while on the move, the ability to transport gin, tonic, ice and fresh lemons or limes is rather cumbersome. Its also quite difficult to mix while riding on a beast of burden; whether camel, elephant, yak, horse, Martian hexapod and so forth.
Thats why Brandy is the drink for on the move type situations on campaign. It also gets my preference in any kind of inclement weather where it has also has significnat medicinal properties.
Chin-Chin!
Ah now this ignorant colonist understands.
ReplyDeleteHere we just use Whiskey for everything! :-)

My pleasure of course good Sir!
ReplyDeleteNot that a fine single malt doesn't have its place you know... Its just the thing after a brisk hunt on a cold wet day!
There is a review of the SS rules here:
