Whats the humdrum about Chaps? Adventures into Victorian Science Fiction and Steampunk with ramblings about Aeronefs, Dirigibles, Land Ironclads, Anarchists, Dinosaur Hunting, Terranefs, Aquanefs, Mad Scientists, and all manner of electric contraptions and steam conveyances. It may not make sense, but there will be claret and a nice cheese board at the end. Tally-Ho and "VĂ´tre dans une sauce au vin blanc!"
"but I much prefer the current system to some self-serving politician..."
I'm trying to propose a change to the Australian constitution where we ditch the Queen and have the horse which wins the Melbourne Cup as the head of state. In terms of actual governmental function there'd be no difference, and the head of state would still be a relatively arbitrary individual, rather than an elected self-serving person, but the cost of upkeep would be cheaper. Plus linking the head of state to a pointless sporting event would be more Australian than having an hereditary monarch :)
I can't see any flaws in the plan :)
(We have a day off here today - for the Queen's Birthday. Happens every year. The UK doesn't do that :) )

Jolly good show, Paul, and God save the Queen.
Yep, God save the Queen. I'm not a massive royalist, but I much prefer the current system to some self-serving politician...
