John Carter

Taking a break from watching England thrash the bally Indians at The Oval I sat down with a fine port and piece of game pie at my portable Babbage Engine this afternoon and came across this chronophotographic adevrtisement for a forthcoming feature about that Yankee bounder who we came across on Mars (he'd gone bally native don't ya know).

Harrumph! Whatever, it put the wind up one to see one of those bally four armed green Martians again I can say, time for a stuff one what?

That boy's a Virginian! Folks from them parts might get a bit rattled that one of their native sons have been given the despicable label of "yankee."

Honour may have to be satisfied. I advise you make yourself available on the morrow at the old mill promptly at dawn.

Good day to you sir!

Harrumph! All rebellious colonials that side of the pond are bally Yankees as any servant of the Queen would know!

Back in my younger days I spent many days with John Carter on Barsoom (the old boardgame).
I like the depiction of the 4-armed green Martians. It would be cool if someone produced such chaps in miniature.

A fine selection of barsoomian characters including the green men you seek is available at www.bronzeagemin.com. They carry a pretty incredible selection of unique castings which paint up wonderfully.

Any good martian native would be proud to own any one of them!
